To compete effectively, today's business organizations must maximize HR output. Achieving consistent high performance requires that the foundation of a healthy organziation be viewed through the 3 lenses of Style, Structure and Strategy.* Through these three lenses can be seen the multidimensional deferential between successful organizations and failed ones. When combined effectively, these three organizational elements can generate extraordinary results.
Based on the 7-S-Model* (McKinsey 7-S), Jim's expertise and focus is directed towards the elemental development of Style, Structure, and Strategy.
Style:
Style is the way an organization goes about doing its business including its: beliefs, attitudes, behaviors, values, and sense of identity.
The culture of the organization, consisting of two components:
Organizational Culture - the dominant values and beliefs, and norms,
which develop over time and become relatively enduring features of
organizational life.
Management Style - more a matter of what managers do than what they say. How do company managers spend their time? What do managers pay attention to?
Strategy:
Strategy is comprised of the organization’s Vision of the future, Mission, Business Initiatives, Action Plans, and Metrics of Measurement. It can be defined as the actions a company takes in response to or anticipation of changes in its
external environment.
Structure:
Structure is the way a business organizes itself to deliver products and services including: human resources, roles, policies, leadership positions, systems, equipment, and so on. It is the basis for specialization and co-ordination influenced primarily by strategy
and by organization size and diversity.
